In the wake of ongoing conflict, the Ukrainian people face daily threats from landmines and unexploded ordnance scattered across their homeland. These hidden dangers not only claim lives but also instill fear and prevent communities from rebuilding. Our organization is at the forefront of a crucial mission: to save lives by making Ukraine’s lands safe again.
The Scale of the Problem
Ukraine is one of the most heavily mined countries in the world. It is estimated that over 2 million people live in areas contaminated by landmines, with more than 250,000 hectares of land rendered unusable for agriculture, development, or habitation. The sheer number of landmines is staggering—an estimated 1.8 million explosive devices are believed to be buried in the ground, waiting to claim innocent lives.
These landmines are responsible for thousands of injuries and fatalities, with civilians—especially children—being the most vulnerable. In 2022 alone, more than 670 civilian casualties were reported as a direct result of landmines and unexploded ordnance. Each of these incidents represents a life lost, a family shattered, and a community left in despair.

Our organization is dedicated to reducing and ultimately eliminating these threats. We deploy highly trained demining teams equipped with the latest technology to systematically identify, remove, and safely dispose of landmines across Ukraine. Every day, our teams work in some of the most dangerous and difficult conditions, driven by the knowledge that their work is saving lives.
